Reciting a song written by Shishunaala Shareef, Janni advised students that they should work as a group and not alone.
He was speaking at the inauguration of annual day celebrations of SBRR Mahajana’s PU College here on Friday.
Stressing on the importance of participating in extracurricular activities, he said that obtaining a rank is just not enough to claim a job in the present times.
He said that involving selves in drama or sport, gives students the edge over their competitors.
He bemoaned that nowadays, students think that drama is just about acting, but it involves a lot of effort.
Janni said that drama is a means of bringing out the truth that about the injustice being meted out in the society.
Furthermore, drama not only makes you an honest person it also turns you into a good human being, he told students.
Speaking on the occasion, PU Education Board Deputy Director K Chandramma said that teachers should work towards bringing forth the talent in the students.
Urging for a larger participation from the lecturers in identifying talent among their students, Chandramma said that even students should focus on participating in all events.
Mentioning that stricter regulations were in place for I PUC exams, Chandramma warned the students not to take the exams lightly thinking that the college would push them through to the second year.
She urged them to be serious and perform better in the upcoming exams.
