Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada MP Capt Brijesh Chowta has ridiculed the Congress government led by Siddaramaiah, and said that in its two years of rule, it has delivered corrupt governance, disguised itself with free guarantees, burdened the common people with price hikes, trapped Karnataka in a debt spiral, and hindered Central government schemes, thus crippling development.

Reacting to the Congress' celebration of its two-year achievements, he said, "By covering up a case against himself in the MUDA land scam, CM Siddaramaiah’s personal achievement is shielding his own wrongdoing. If someone who claims to be a clean politician is drowning in corruption, the people of Karnataka clearly understand the true colour of this Congress government."

He added, "From the Valmiki Corporation scam, KPSC exam paper leaks, 60 per cent commission allegations , hundreds of farmer suicides, to conspiracies involving encroachment of Hindu farmers' lands in the name of Waqf land , and even officers driven to suicide due to corruption in various departments — these are the real 'achievements' of the Siddaramaiah government."

Highlighting the situation in Dakshina Kannada district, he said, "The Siddaramaiah government’s performance here is zero. Even in the budget, there is no comprehensive development plan for the district or the coastal region. Without spending a single paisa on infrastructure development, they constantly blame the Centre to cover up their own failures. Even in the implementation of popular Central schemes, they create hurdles and politicise development."
