Former MP Prathap Simha on Tuesday reacted the stone-pelting incident at Udayagiri Police Station and said that it is not a Kannadiga government in state but a Talibani government headed by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Speaking to media persons, in Mysuru, the hometown of the Congress veteran, Simha said the incident is a 'shame on a civilised society'.

He said, "The stone-pelting is a reflection of the Siddaramaiah administration. This shows how weak he is as a Chief Minister. The law and order has collapsed in Siddaramaiah’s home district itself. The police should also stop dancing to the tune of the ruling party and stick to the rule book. Those who have attacked the cops and the police station seem to belong to the 'Tipu clan'.

"The incident happened because Siddaramaiah has no control over the administration and he has let anti-social elements do whatever they want,” Simha said.

Simha further said, “Why are Muslims angry over the defeat of Arvind Kejrival of Aam Admi Party and the poor performance of Rahul Gandhi of Congress and Akhilesh Yadav of the Samajvadi Party in Delhi? The Udayagiri police should teach a fitting lesson to the miscreants, who attacked their station. They should start a combing operation in the surrounding areas to nab them”.

BJP leaders stopped, sent back from protest site

Simha including other BJP leaders such as MLA T S Srivathsa, ex-MLA L Nagendra and ex-mayor Sandesh Swamy, who were bound for the Udayagiri Police Station were intercepted and sent back on Tuesday morning.

The BJP leaders then went to Huliyamma temple in the adjoining Kyathamaranahalli area to meet the locals. The leaders were also met with cops there who then sent them back from the village.
