Mandya: "I am one among the eight MLAs who left JD(S) and joined Congress, led by Siddaramaiah. A few have become ministers. Siddaramaiah won a lucky lottery and became CM,” said Congress MLA B R Patil.

He was speaking to media persons during his visit to KR Pet in Mandya district to take part in the birth celebrations of former Speaker Krishna on Tuesday. “Congress State Incharge Randeep Surjewala had come, as there was a discord in the party in the state. I spoke to him for around 45 minutes and gave all information. He has noted it down and taken it seriously. However, what action will be taken, is left to his discretion,” Patil said.

“I don’t have a godfather. Both Siddaramaiah and I come from the farmers’ movement. If farmer leader Nanjundaswamy hadn’t encouraged, then Siddaramaiah wouldn’t have entered politics. Some people have a god and even godfather,” he said.

“I don’t have the power to speak about the change in CM. It is left to the high command. I am not aware of D K Shivakumar becoming CM. Surjewala did not speak about leadership matter. I am unhappy over Siddaramaiah on some issues, like sanctioning grants. We have also conveyed this to the high command,” he said.

A video clip of B R Patil commenting on the CM over a mobile phone has gone viral. He is seen saying, “Chief Minister Siddaramaiah won the lucky lottery. I am the person, who made Siddaramaiah meet Sonia Gandhi. His time was good and he became CM.”
