Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has found a supporter and admirer from an unexpected corner, in former MP Pratap Simha.
Speaking to media persons, here on Wednesday, Simha of the BJP praised the work of Siddaramaiah, in the wake of the controversy over the decision of the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), to name the stretch from Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara temple to the Royal Inn junction of the KRS Road, as 'Siddaramaiah Arogya Marga'.
He said, “I oppose Siddaramaiah ideologically, but not on this matter. He is a proud son of Mysuru. Siddaramaiah has been CM twice, with a clear majority. He has contributed significantly, for the development of Mysuru”.
“Siddaramaiah is responsible for building the Jayadeva Hospital building, super speciality hospital, and Raja Marga. He has been in politics and as legislator for over 40 years. What's wrong in naming a road after him? Opposing this matter is political pettiness. It is like searching for stones in curds. Achievers are there not only in the BJP, but in all parties, we should acknowledge them,” Simha said.
