S Janaki, a renowned singer, will perform in Mysuru at a programme organised by S Janaki Charitable Trust, at the Open Air Theatre in Manasagangothri on October 28.
According to the trust president Naveen, it is the last public programme of S Janaki. She had announced six months ago that she would not sing at public programmes. However, owing to repeated requests, she agreed to perform, he said.
Film actors Shivraj Kumar, B Saroja Devi, Shylashree, Sahukar Janaki, Bharati Vishnuvardhan, Srinath, music director Hamsalekha and others will attend the event.
Meanwhile, Janaki’s son Muralikrishna told DH that she announced retirement a few months ago. But, she will complete the assignments accepted before announcing the retirement.
