Slum dwellers pour in woes at meeting

 City Municipal Council President M P Arun kumar and Vice-President M J Chikkanna participated.

They flayed the district administration, elected representatives for their failure to solve problems despite holding several protests all these days.

A slum dweller of Gadikharkhane complained that there is no toilet in the colony. Women cannot go out of houses to attend nature call after dark.

The residents of Halahalli Slum colony complained about leaking roofs in their houses constructed by Karnataka State Slum Clearance Board.

Promising to fulfil their demands, CMC president M P Arunkumar directed the officials of Slum Clearance Board to address all those problems as early as possible. He also threatened to lay siege to Karnataka Slum Clearance Board Office in Mysore if a permanent office was not opened in Mandya. The board is yet to set up a office in the city eventhough the CMC allotted a site long ago.

Karnataka Slum Clearance Board Officer Mahadevu,  Slum Dwellers Federation Chief Naganna, H V Vasu and others were present.
