Speaking to reporters after lodging the complaint with the Lokayukta, former deputy chief minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan said: “We have directly complained to the Lokayukta SP and explained in detail about corruption. We have urged them to initiate action and take this issue to its logical end. A war has begun now.”

Reiterating his allegation that Energy Minister K J George had uttered ‘9 lies,’ Narayan argued that the government was making smart meters compulsory for customers even when it was “not compulsory.” The former deputy chief minister said they had complained against George, Principal Secretary Gaurav Gupta, Bescom MD Mahantesh, Technical Director Ramesh and so on.
