Former minister V Somanna (in pic) will be the BJP candidate for the Legislative Council election in the state. He was four-time MLA and one-time MLC.
There was some resistance within the party to field Somanna as he has differences with state BJP president B S Yeddyurappa. However, Somanna enjoys the support of Union Minister Ananth Kumar.
Somanna is likely to file his papers on Tuesday.
