St Aloysius launches Civil Service Academy

On the occasion of foundation day, St Aloysius College (Autonomous) launched its Civil Service Academy in Mangaluru.

Michael D’Souza, philanthropist and NRI businessman inaugurated the academy. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “My long cherished dream has been fulfilled, and i thank God for that. When we expressed our desire to the management of St Aloysius College, they assured their support. This academy opens new doors for youngsters to serve the nation. The training of civil service is on compassion, consciousness and competition which decides the students’ future. I am confident that finest officers will flourish from this academy and serve the people,” he said.

Fr Dionysius Vaz said, “Nine Jesuits came here on the request of Catholic community of Mangaluru and then they created a history. Civil Service Academy is one part of the education and we inviting the candidates to get training from here for a better future of nation as well as that of individual.”

Courses offered are—full-time course for graduates and postgraduates and add-on course (part-time) open to all for working professionals, under-graduate and post-graduate students. Two year foundation course for PUC and Higher Secondary students.

Fr Dionysius Vaz, Rector, St Aloysius Educational Institutions, Fr Praveen Martis , Principal , St Aloysius College, Fr Valerian D Souza, and other trustee of academy were present.
