The state government is opposed to the Union government’s proposal to construct five elevated roads on the National Highway 212 cutting across the Bandipur forest area, Forest Minister R Shankar said Friday.

Shankar pointed out that Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had already clarified that the ban on night traffic in Bandipur would not be lifted and that the elevated corridor would not constructed.

“We will stick to this stand before the Supreme Court,” Shankar told reporters.
