The State BJP Economic and Chartered Accountants Cell held an interaction programme in Bangalore on Wednesday to draw its wish list for a “turnaround” in the economy.

Former deputy chief minister K S Eshwarappa told Deccan Herald that they were expecting more rail, road and infrastructure projects for the State in the budget to be presented by the Modi government. He said the Centre would also provide higher coal allocation to Karnataka.

“We are expecting that a large number of cities from the State would figure in the 100 ‘smart cities’ proposed to be developed by the Centre.”

The participants at the interaction were keen that the new government at the
Centre take steps to revive the manufacturing sector and usher in fiscal consolidation, tax reforms and simpler tax regime besides implementing the bullet train project.
