Parents of a girl from Hosanagar taluk were shocked on Wednesday after learning that their elder daughter ended her life by hanging from a ceiling fan in the wee hours of Wednesday, at the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati.
Sources said Nagashree S C, daughter of Chandrashekhar Aithal, areca grower and resident of Sooryaghatta, Hosanagar taluk, was admitted to IIT, Guwahati, a month ago for BTech course in mechanical engineering. She has left behind a note saying she wanted to be teacher and not an engineer. Her parents are on their way to Guwahati.
