A total of 82 state government employees including 8 women donated blood in protest against the National Pension Scheme (NPS) and urged the government to reintroduce the old pension scheme.

State Government Employees NPS Employees’ Association donated blood at the district hospital on Wednesday as a part of the protest. All those government employees who joined after April 2006 were included under NPS. There is a sense of insecurity among the retired government employees with NPS.

District surgeon Dr Doddamallappa inaugurated the blood donation camp. MLA C T Ravi received grievances from the State Government Employees NPS Employees’ Association.
