“This initiative enhances technology awareness and competitive spirit among students and provides them an impetus to succeed in their careers. It also gives an opportunity for students especially from the rural parts of the State to showcase their talents”, says Prof R Natarajan, Chairman, BITES.
Each institution can send 10 teams (two-members per team) to participate in the regional finals of the quiz through an internal selection process. There is no participation fee. Entries have to be sent through the respective institutions on or before March 25 to The Co-ordinator, BITES-TCS IT Quiz, BITES, No 9, Ground floor, UNI Building, Thimmaiah Road, Millers Tank Bed, Bangalore-560052 or by fax to 22207270/71.
The regional level quiz competition will be conducted at the following six locations: Gulbarga (April 12), Hubli (April 15), Tumkur (April 17), Mysore (April 26), Mangalore (april 28) and Bangalore (April 30). The State finals will be held in bangalore on May 8.
The quiz will focus on emerging areas like cloud computing, telecom, biometics and robotics. Winners at both the regional and state-level finals will receive educational scholarships.
