In Mysuru, for the first time, private buses were allowed near the bus stand, to ensure that the public are not inconvenienced due to the bus strike. Around 100 buses were seen plying on various routes.

There were a few commuters at the bus depots in the morning, who were not aware of the bus strike. By 11 am, the depots and bus stands were almost empty.

However, bus service to H D Kote, Hunsur, KR Nagar was not affected, according to KSRTC divisional controller (rural), Srinivas.

No KSRTC buses were operational from Mandya depot. Deputy Commissioner Kumara visited the bus depot and took stock of the situation and also held talks with private bus operators.

In Hassan, the bus strike was total. While the city buses stopped service from Monday night itself, the rural and buses to other districts too stayed away from roads since Tuesday morning. Here too, private buses lined up in front of the bus stand.

As there were complaints that the operators are demanding more fare, the RTO officers rushed to the spot and directed the operators not to fleece the public.
