Madikeri Urban Development Authority (MUDA), Department of Tourism and Stree Shakthi Associations organised a cleanliness drive on the premises of Sri Omkareshwara Temple, Gowrikere, City Municipal Council Park, Raja Seat and other places in the town on Monday.

The City Municipal Council personnel, civic workers, schoolchildren, tourism department staff and members of various organisations took part in the drive.

City Municipal Council Commissioner B B Pushpavathi said cleanliness drive has been of great significance as far as Madikeri Urban Development Authority is concerned.

Various department staff, members of organisations and people have been taking part actively in the cleanliness drive.

It aims to create awareness among people to maintain cleanliness at tourist spots. The City Municipal Council will conduct the drive once in 15 days with the cooperation of various departments, City Municipal Council Commissioner added.
