The statement came after a letter surfaced with Joint Commissioner Dasarahalli zone citing the commissioner’s name to invite revenue department officials and staff to the party.
The Commissioner said, "Officers have misunderstood and has invited the staff, using my name. Tax Collecting Department's Employees Association President Subramanya has actually invited for the lunch party. Joint Commissioner mistook him for me.”
In the letter signed by Joint Commissoner, Dasarahalli K M Ramachandran, the BBMP personnel were invited for the lunch at 1 pm, since the Palike had exceeded expectations in property tax collection for the year.
The Palike Commissioner said the invitation sent will be investigated and necessary action will be taken.
