Suffering from depression, sibling duo die by suicide in Karnataka's HukkeriSankeshwar police have registered a case.

Belagavi: Two siblings, reportedly in their fifties and depressed over not being married died by suicide by consuming poisonous substance at Konankeri village in Hukkeri taluk on Friday, officials said.

They deceased have been identified as Santosh Ravindra Gunde (55) and Annasaheb Ravindra Gunde (50).

Both the siblings were not married and were reportedly addicted to liquor. They laced liquor with poisonous substance and consumed it on Friday. Neighbours, upon noticing their failing health, got them admitted to a hospital at Gandhinglaj town in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra where they succumbed.

Police said both were unmarried and were depressed. Their mother too was visually and hearing impaired. Both the brothers had sold off their property too.

Sankeshwar police have registered a case.
