Union Minister of State for Labour Shobha Karandlaje on Friday urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to hold the National Investigate Agency (NIA) probe into murder of Hindu activist Suhas Shetty in Mangalore.
In her letter to Shah, the Minister said that this was a planned and deliberate attack to silence a fearless voice that stood up for Hindu causes and opposed illegal activities like cow slaughter.
She said the Congress ruled Karnataka Government appeasement policy emboldened the anti-social elements. The Karnataka recently withdrew serious criminal cases against anti-social elements who have indulged in attacking the police stations in Hubballi and Mysuru. Such leniency by the state government encouraged the anti social elements to indulging in mob attacking and targetted killing without fear of law, she said.
"Only the NIA can expose the deeper conspiracy, identify the masterminds, and ensure justice. The collapse of law and order in Karnataka and the state’s silence on rising ant-Hindu crimes have empowered such radical elements. This must stop now, " she said.
