The supporters of K N Rajanna took to streets strongly condemning the unceremonious removal of their leader from Siddaramaiah’s Cabinet, in the town on Tuesday.
They took out a march holding posters in favour of their leader and raised slogans condemning the Congress leadership for removing Rajanna “without any valid reasons.The agitators forced traders to shut shop in protest.
Three of Rajanna’s supporters attempted suicide. While Shivalinga made a vain bid to self immolate using petrol, Sompur Ranganath and Siddapur Rangashamanna tried to consume poison in an apparent suicide bid.
Other agitators at the spot stopped them by snatching away petrol cans and poison bottles.
Members of Valmiki community and various other organisations staged a dharna in Tumakuru. They demanded the Congress leadership to reinduct Rajanna into the Cabinet.
