The work on a bridge across Kaimani stream connecting the houses in Yavakapady was taken up five years ago. However, now, the work has been suspended. The residents have built a makeshift bridge using wooden logs to reach the houses.
The work on a minor bridge at Yavakapady too has remained incomplete. The work on the bridge is of poor quality, alleged the residents.
The residents threatened to boycott the election due to the failure of authorities to complete the work on the bridges in the last five years.
