Cheluru is one of the biggest and most backward region of the taluk and should be made a taluk to develop it , opined Taluk Panchayat member from Chaakvelu Sudhakar Reddy.
In a response to the demand, Sampangi said that he had always stood for the taluk status for Cheluru from the beginning. “Being the MLA from the region I have always wished to see Cheluru as a taluk and have tried to pressurise State Government by writing a letter to Chikkaballapur MP and Union Minister Veerappa Moily.
TP member from Patapalya Naseema Shanu said, there was shortage of staff including principal at Patapalya Government PU College. In a reply to this BEO said, steps would be taken to appoint lecturers temporarily. TP President Ashwathappa, Vice-President Ravindra Reddy, CEO Dr B Srinivas, AEE Nagappa were present.
