The delay in formulating the transfer policy on deployment of additional teachers at government schools has left the instructors in a fix. Teachers have pasted a number of handbills on the walls and doors of the Deputy Director for Public Instruction’s office here, showing their willingness for mutual transfer. While some teachers have been opposing deployment of additional teachers, a few others are trying to attract mutual transfer, which will benefit both the aspirants.
Schools reopened in June and two months are over now. But the government is still dragging its feet on the matter, teachers complain. They started pasting handbills to attract their co-professionals who visit the DDPI’s office hoping that one might get interested in the offer. The handbills have their contact numbers and their choice of new place of transfer.
Distance issue During the recruitment process, many teachers from Mandya were posted in schools in other taluks and districts, far from their native place and family. Similarly, teachers from other districts and taluks are serving in Mandya. Now, they are trying to use the opportunity of deployment by showing their willingness for mutual transfer.
As the DDPI office is frequented by headmasters and teachers, there is a possibility of these teachers informing their friends about it, which would enable them for mutual transfer.
Teachers serving in Gonikoppa of Kodagu district, Singapura of Holenarasipur taluk, Athahalli of T Narasipur taluk, Aluru of Kalaburagi district, Arkera of Yadgir district, etc have pasted handbills at the DDPI office.
Some have given the details of their current posting, disclosing the name of the place they wish to be transferred, along with their phone numbers. They have also explained the subject, whether they are primary or high school teachers, the distance of the school from the taluk and district centre and other details.
However, mutual transfer is possible only if teachers have completed their probationary period, and the teaching subject and salary structure are the same.
