He was addressing a gathering at a workshop on Osteoarthritis organised by Mobility India, Velocity hospital and Ossur Asia, a leading provider of non-invasive orthopaedic products and services.

Grimsson appreciated the extensive cooperation between the two countries and said that India through its culture and vibrant democracy has enriched his life.

Soon the services provided by Ossur, President Grimsson said, “What began with one inventor has now become one of the largest prosthetic companies in the world. It follows the culture of service and is a manifestation of extraordinary innovations.”

President Grimsson said, “It took a while to bring Ossur to India, as the company was looking for better companies as partners.” He said the relationship and the tie-up between the two countries conveys a social message that it is possible to overcome disability and lead a normal life.

Iceland ambassador Guomundur Eiriksson; Indian ambassador S Swaminathan and President of Ossur Asia Arni Alvar Arason were present on the occasion.
