They condemned the decision of the National Highway Construction Authority to demolish the temple to widen the National Highway 4.

They alleged that though the demolition work has been dropped according to Union Minister Muniyappa’s direction, the official concerned have marked the compound to demolish.

Tahshildar S M Mangala rushed to the spot and tried to pacify the agitators. The officer promised to take further action only after holding a meeting headed by the Deputy Commissioner. The demolition work will also be stopped until further direction, the officer added.

Chalapati, Appi, M Raghavendra, Jayantilal, D L Nagaraj, Jagadeeshwarachari, City Municipal Council Member Somashekhar and Raghu,  Patel Venkatappa,  Inayatulla, Shaheed Umar and others led the protest.
