The district administration and the Health Department have initiated measures to monitor the health condition of the victims of Kichchugutti Maramma temple Prasada poisoning case who are discharged from the hospitals.
As on Thursday, 52 patients have been discharged from various hospitals in Mysuru.
The medical professionals, including psychiatrists and doctors, will visit the houses of the victims regularly to monitor the health condition.
Three teams, comprising psychiatrists, have been constituted and they will visit the houses regularly. For the emergency purpose, two life supporting ambulances fitted with ventilator have been stationed at Hanur and Kollegal taluk hospitals and a general ambulance at Martalli village.
Besides, the Health Department has deputed eight doctors from Chamarajanagar Institute of Medical Sciences at six primary health centres (PHCs)— Male Madeshwara Hill, Martalli, Ponnachi, Rampura, Hanur and Kowdalli. The doctors will be available in these PHCs round-the-clock, District Health Officer (DHO) Dr K H Prasad said.
If the doctors find any medical problem during the follow-up, the patients will be immediately shifted to the Kollegal Hospital. “A majority of the victims are left mentally disturbed after the incident and the chances of them getting into depression is high. The department has taken several measures to monitor the health condition of each victim and ensure all of them recover soon,” the DHO said.
As directed by Deputy Commissioner B B Kaveri, food items were distributed among the family members of the deceased.
The deputy commissioner has also ordered to distribute ration to the families of the patients, who are discharged. Accordingly, each victim will get 25 kg rice, five kg dal and sugar, two litres cooking oil and the other essential products.
