A video clip of an elephant approaching a tempo on Shantaveri Ghat has gone viral on social media.
A wild elephant has been moving around on Shantaveri Ghat Road in the taluk for the last few days.
Recently, the elephant approached a bus from the opposite direction, which forced the driver of the bus to move the vehicle in reverse gear.
A few days ago, the same elephant obstructed a tempo transporting jack fruits to Chikkamagaluru. Gripped with fear, the tempo driver and cleaner jumped out of the vehicle and fled from the spot. The elephant consumed the jack fruits and walked away. A video clip of the incident has gone viral on social media.
The people are of the opinion that the pachyderm might have come in search of water and fodder.
