KPCC Vice President V R Sudarshan releases the Congress manifesto 'We will deliver' at the district Congress committee office in Mangaluru on Friday. Former minister B Ramanath Rai and District Congress Committee spokesperson A C Vinayraj look on.

The Congress manifesto has been drafted by visionary leaders by taking into account ground-level issues, KPCC Vice President V R Sudarshan said.

He was speaking after releasing the Congress manifesto ‘Congress Will Deliver’, at District Congress Committee Office here, on Friday.

Sudarshan said that the NDA-led government at the Centre had created an atmosphere of hatred and fear in the country. The earlier UPA government had implemented pro-people schemes and laws such as Right to Information, Right to Education, Food Security Act, National Rural Health Mission and Land Acquisition (amendment) Act.

Accusing the present central government of being totally anti-farmer, he said during the UPA tenure, the agricultural loans provided to farmers was rupees eight lakh crore while the agricultural loans provided to farmers during the NDA tenure was only Rs 83,000 crore, he said.

The Centre had misused central institutions and CBI and CAG were treated as puppets in the hands of the government. The centre created a chaos with the faulty implementation of GST. The centre’s credibility in Rafale deal is also questionable, he said.

‘Manifold increase’

“The terror attacks had increased manifold in NDA
tenure when compared to the previous UPA tenure,” he added.

MLC and District Congress Committee President Harish Kumar, former minister B Ramanath Rai, District Congress Committee Spokesperson A C Vinayraj, General Secretary Santhosh and leader Sadashiva Ullal were present.
