Textile unit reopens in Koppa

The unit was started by borrowing a loan of Rs 18 lakh from the bank. In fact, the unit had provided employment to 50 women. Unfortunately, owing to some problem, it was closed down, thus putting the women to hardship.

Now Samskriti Creation Subrahmanya Masikeri of Bangalore has come forward to provide employment to these women and have also come forward to revive the unit at Koppa and Nagalapura in N R Pura.

Taluk Panchayat EO Thippesh said the creation will provide monthly honourarium of Rs 1,800 to these women along with providing training in textiles and technology.
Arjun garments have agreed to repay the loan to the tune of Rs 3.5 lakh and Samskrithi Creation with Rs 90,000. The employees are yet to get one month’s salary. A new building at a cost of Rs 4.50 lakh under Swarna Jayanthi Shahari Rozgar Yojane will be built for the cutting yard and for training purpose. Those employees who have lost job after the closure of Seethur unit can join the unit at Koppa and N R Pura, he added. Samskriti Creations has agreed to provide training to the women to prepare textiles of quality so that it can be exported to the foreign countries.
