Mangaluru: Unidentified thieves entered into a house and decamped with valuables including gold ornaments and cash, worth Rs 14,02,000 at Kolpedabailu in Maladi village of Belthangady taluk.
In a complaint, 58 year old Vasanthi Hegde said that she along with her son and daughter in law had been to Belthangady by locking the house on April 20 noon.
When they returned back in the evening, they noticed the lock of the front door was broken open. Cash of Rs 30,000 placed in the cupboard, 160.5 gram weighing gold ornaments worth Rs 13,72,000 was missing from the house.
Following which a case was registered at Punjalkatte Police Station under Sections 331(3), 305 BNS. The investigation is in progress.
