Threat calls: Doctor, rowdy-sheeter held

The duo made 30 calls to Chandrashekhar, the personal assistant of the Chief Minister, from coin booths in Anekal, Bangalore, Hoskote, Hubli, Shimoga and other places since July 25.

They claimed to possess CDs on the personal life of the Chief Minister and threatened to make them public by handing them over to the media, the Opposition leader Siddaramaiah and MP Kumaraswamy, if they were not paid Rs 15 crore. Chandrashekhar, in a complaint lodged on Wednesday had said that the callers threatened his and the CM’s life if the police were contacted.

A special team was constituted to trace the callers and their movements were tracked on the basis of the telephone calls. They finally landed in the net near Bhadravathi. Investigation is in progress.
