Madikeri: The police have been successful in arrested three persons on the charges of stealing treasury box, stamps, postal passbooks and CCTV DVR from a post office at Bittangala in Virajpet taluk.

According to the police, the arrested are K C Ashok (35), K P Keerthi (25) and Riyaz (26). The police have recovered CCTV DVR, treasury box, and stamps worth Rs 930 in addition to car, two bikes, wood cutting machine, air gun, 20 kg coffee, 250 kg black pepper, 30 gram gold, 229 gram silver items.

The arrested had stole a Omni car that was parked in the shed of the house belonging to Machaiah at Bittangala. They were also involved in theft cases in Gonikoppa, Bhagamandala, and Kushalnagar.

A team led by DySP Maheshkumar, Circle inspector Anup Madappa, Sub inspectors Latha, Vanishri and crime detection and technical staff were part of the team which cracked the case.
