The Tulu Shivalli Madhwabrahmana Mahamandala will celebrate the 80th birthday of scholar Dr Bannanje Govindacharya from October 2 to 4.
The three-day felicitation ceremony will be organised at Katyani Kalyana Mantap in Kadiyali.
Speaking to media persons, scholar Vidwan Ramanath Acharya said the renowned literary scholar and critic was known for his volumes and thorough knowledge on Saint Madhwacharya. His contribution to Sanskrit literature is immense. He has actively involved himself in religious discourse not only in India, but also abroad.
Papers on scholar
He said 12 papers would be presented on the occasion on the topic ‘Bannanje and contributions of the scholar to the field of Tulunadu literature.’
A book on the work of the scholar ‘Brahmaratha-2’ will be brought out on the occasion.
He said Pejawar Mutt seer Sri Vishweshatheertha Swami would grace the occasion on October 4 where the scholar would be felicitated. A book by Bannanje on ‘Krishnashtami’ will be released on the occasion. He said all the seers of Asta mutts would be present during the three-day felicitation ceremony.
