Udupi: The Baindoor police on Tuesday arrested three persons on the charges of theft of gold, silver ornaments from a house at Uppunda in Udupi.

The accused has been identified as Yatiraj Uppunda, Mahesh Yalajith, and Karthik Nagoor.

Superintendent of Police Dr Arun K said that Janardhan, a resident of Uppunda village in a complaint to the police had alleged that gold, silver ornaments, cash and a laptop was stolen from his house on March 10, when the family members had gone to watch Yakshagana performance in the nearby area. When they returned from Yakshagana, they found that burglars had broken the door, entered the house, and stolen valuables from the cupboard.

The police seized gold ornaments, a laptop, and the mobilephone used for the crime, recovering stolen items worth approximately Rs three lakh.
