The dead are Ashok Somannavar (35) of Kerur, who was a passenger in the bus, Mahantesh Gaudar (23), driver of the lorry and Suresh Jakkannavar (18), cleaner.
The injured are being treated at KIMS in Hubli. Six of them are said to be in a critical condition.According to sources, the Bagalkot-bound bus collided with the speeding truck, which was coming from Bagalkot, at Ron Cross, near Naragund.
Disrupted traffic
The traffic on Hubli-Bijapur State Highway was affected for more than an hour due to the mishap.
