Three labourers were electrocuted and one suffered serious injuries when they came in contact with an 11kv electric line at Doddapulikotu in Napoklu on Sunday.

The incident occurred when the labourers came in contact with a live wire while trimming the branches of the trees using an aluminium ladder in the coffee estate.

According to the police, the deceased are Dayana Thammayya (40), Anil (45) and Anil's wife Kavitha (36). Another individual named Sunitha has suffered injuries and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

All of them were working in the plantation owned by Madeyanda Kunhappa. It may be recalled that three labourers died after electrocution while plucking coconut, at Arvathoklu in Virajpet taluk on April 1.
