Gundlupet, Chamarajanagar dist: A tiger’s carcass was found near Srikantapuragudda under Onkar range, Bandipur Tiger Reserve, in Gundlupet taluk, Chamarajanagar district, on Monday.

The male tiger, said to be around nine years old, was found in a highly decomposed state. Bandipur Tiger Reserve DCF Prabhakaran, ACF Suresh, Onkar range forest officer Sathish Kumar and officials visited the spot.

Veterinarian Dr Mujeeb, who conducted the post mortem confirmed that no injuries were found on the body of the tiger. It might have died of natural causes.

The carcass was cremated as per the Forest department norms.
