Of the 2520 applications received, the APMC distributed cheques to 1026 eligible candidates. 31 applications are still being re-examined, Gowda said.

“The total amount of relief money given to farmers is Rs 35,25,471. The applications of 31 candidates have been held back due to the lack of proper records. Cheques will be distributed to those who furnish any one of the following documents: electoral photo ID cards, ration cards and driving licenses.

“Those who do not have the necessary documents can submit a certificate issued by the village accountant or APMC director, at the APMC office,” he added.

The President also said that as part of the second phase, the Deputy Commissioner (Kolar) has been requested to release the remaining funds to the remaining farmers. “Arrangements have been made to release the funds to the farmers directly,” he said.
Director P N Narayana Gowda, Secretary B G Nagaraj were also present.
