‘Tourism to be promoted in Kodagu’

District-in-charge minister Sa Ra Mahesh said the state government has announced a special rain relief package of Rs 100 crore to Kodagu district, following extensive damage to properties due to heavy rains.

Of the said Rs 100 crore, the government has already released Rs 50 crore. All development works will be taken up in the district.

He was speaking during his first visit to the district as a district in-charge minister on Friday. He offered special puja to the statue of Kaveri at Koppa Gate. “The chief minister has already discussed the problems faced in the district, with the officials. Suggestions from both the MLAs have been collected and efforts will be made towards the integrated development of the district. Tourism will be promoted in the district,” he added.
