The deputy commissioner had recently banned entry of tourists to Jog Falls from January 1 to March 15 in view of several development works taken up to improve tourism infrastructure. However, a press release issued on Sunday said that tourists can view the water falls from View Point, Yatri Nivas, Rani Falls, Mumbai Bungalow etc.

Tourist footfalls used to go up in the last week of December every year. But, this year, the number of tourists came down even before the entry was banned.

Joint Secretary to Tourism Department Dharmappa has informed that barricades have been erected and security personnel are deployed at all alternative locations.
