A meeting of Mangaluru Taluk Panchayat Standing Committees scheduled on Friday was postponed due to the lunar eclipse.
The meeting of three standing committees was scheduled to be held under the chairmanship of Talu Panchayat President Mohammed Monu at Zilla Panchayat Nethravathi Hall at 10.45 pm.
When enquired, the officials said that the meeting has been postponed due to the lunar eclipse. The meeting will be held on August 1.
Reacting to DH, Taluk Panchayat President Mohammed Monu said, “There are several women in the standing committees. Some of them had appealed to postpone the meeting due to religious rituals following the lunar eclipse. Accordingly, the meeting was postponed.”
