Chikmagalur CMC Commissioner H G Prabhakar said that fines will be slapped on those business establishments which run without possessing trade licenses.
Speaking after inaugurating a programme to mark the issue of licenses, he said the commercial licenses will be issued on the spot.
The City Muncipal Council (CMC) has formed a committee to issue licenses.
The owners should display their licenses when the team visits the business establishments. Measuares have been taken to renew the license on the spot.
There are 8,000 business establishments in the CMC limits and the target is to collect license fee of Rs 26 lakh during the year.
The public should come forward to put an end to plastic menace in the CMC limits, he said.
