'Trin Trin', the public bicycle sharing system, has been introduced in Srirangapatna, approximately 15 km from Mysuru city, as part of the Mysuru Winter Festival (MWF). The service, which has been launched on a pilot basis, will be available till January 1, 2018.

Bengaluru-based 'Namma Nimma Cycle Foundation' and Tourism department has introduced the cycles as 'Island Bicycles Tour'. The authorities have fixed a rent of Rs 10 per hour and the bicycles can be hired between 7 am and 5 pm.

At present, 21 cycles are available and cyclists should produce a copy of their Aadhar card or voter ID card or driving license to hire the cycle. The service is also available for foreign tourists. The project will continue if it gets a good response from the people, said foundation chief executive officer Murali.
