A visit to Gokarna turned tragic as four people were killed on the spot, while two others were injured after a car in which they were travelling hit a truck on National Highway 4 near Hanagawadi village in Harihar taluk during wee hours of Saturday.
The deceased have been identified as Vinay (27), Vinay (30), Ajay (35) and Siddappa (28). Girish (28) and Kiran (35), who sustained injuries, have been shifted to a hospital.
All the six are employees of a private courier firm in Bengaluru. They were heading to Gokarna when the accident occurred, said the police.
The car jumped over the centre median as the driver lost balance. It entered the other side of the road and hit the truck coming from the opposite direction, added the police.
