Bengaluru: Two police officers from Karnataka have been chosen for the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service.
In addition, 18 police and three fire officers from the state, and a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) constable posted in Bengaluru have been awarded the Medal for Meritorious Service (MMS).
Suresh S, Deputy Inspector General, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Bengaluru, and S Badrinath, Superintendent of Police, Karnataka Lokayukta, are the recipients of the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service.
A 1996-batch officer, Suresh has served in the Maoist-hit Bastar and Gadchiroli, Jammu and Kashmir and the Northeast, and had a brief stint with the Anti-terror National Security Guards (NSG). He currently heads the CRPF’s elite Dog Breeding and Training School in Bengaluru.
Badrinath is currently SP (Coordination and Training) in the Karnataka Lokayukta, Bengaluru.
Across India, 1,090 police, fire, home guard and civil defence, and correctional service officers have been awarded gallantry and service medals on Independence Day 2025.
