Bus rams into lorry in Gajanur.

Shivamogga: Two people died on spot and over 13 passengers sustained injuries when a private bus rammed into the rear end of a lorry parked on the road near Gajanur, around 12 km from Shivamogga city, in the wee hours of Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Annappa (38), the bus conductor and a resident of Hosanagar, and Harshit (25), a passenger and a native of Challakere. The bus was heading towards Shivamogga from Mangaluru.
The accident occurred when the driver of the bus steered the vehicle to the left side to avoid collision with another vehicle coming from the opposite direction. The bus rear-ended the stationary lorry, which had no reflector.
The condition of three passengers is said to be critical and they were shifted to a hospital in Manipal while the remaining 13 passengers, who sustained minor injuries, were admitted to various hospitals, including the district general hospital in Shivamogga.
Traffic on the Shivamogga-Thirthahalli road was disrupted for a few hours due to the accident. The Tunga Nagar police visited the spot and admitted the injured to the hospital.
