Mysuru: Two class 10 students were injured due to a minor (Kachcha or Country) bomb blast at Aanjaneya hill premises in Kambadahalli in Mandya district's Nagamangala taluk on Sunday. The incident occurred during a cleanliness drive when they tried to clear a heap of waste on a concrete road.

15-year-old students Hariyanth Patil and Partha were shifted to Adichunchangiri Hospital for treatment, and are currently out of danger.

They study in Pragathi School which is a Jain boarding school.

Mandya SP Mallikarjun Baldandi who visited the spot, told DH, "10 children participated in the cleanliness drive. Two are injured. One is injured in the palm region of the right hand and the other has suffered superficial injuries on the face and stomach region. A bomb disposal squad visited the place. They are assessing the materials used for the bomb, who prepared it, who brought it and who threw it there. It is said that the villagers use them to tackle wild boar menace from nearby Bindiganavile forest region. The investigation is on," he said.

Bindiganavike police are filing FIR under the Explosives act.
