Udupi: Two teenagers drowned while swimming in the Sita River behind Gummahola Church, at Belve, in Shankaranarayana police station limits on Sunday.
The deceased are Shreesh Achary (13) and Jayanth Naik (19).
Four boys had gone to swim when the mishap occurred.
The police said that the incident might have occurred when they ventured into deeper waters without knowing the depth and drowned.
Locals rushed to the spot and retrieved the bodies and the Shankaranarayana police visited the site.
