Two youths, who were fishing with their friends in Kumaradhara river near Subrahmanya, drowned on Wednesday evening.
The corpses of Devasya Latish (22) and Lishith (25), however remained untraced, despite best efforts by divers and police from Subrahmanya police station.
Sources said Devasya Latish (22) and Lishith (25), along with their friends Yuvaraj, Lava Kumar and Ramesh, had gone to fishing at Kumaradhara river near Yenekallu. While venturing out to fishing for the second time, Latish was the first to drown. Lishith who attempted to save him also drowned.
The rescue efforts were delayed as Lava Kumar and Ramesh had fled from their homes. The other friend Yuvaraj took considerable time to trace their fishing location on Thursday.
